ED-Tridim is learning software for the analysis of
one-, two- and three dimensional beam structures by using matrix methods, i.e. FEM.
All modern methods for analyzing structures are based on matrix calculations.
With ED-Tridim these methods can be followed step by step and interactively
on screen and results can be analyzed with ease.
ED-Tridim consists of the following four modules:

Theory:
The theory-module is an extensive synopsis of the basics of structural analysis
with matrix calculus. The user can open the windows based help system at any time
of the solution process and thus gains valuable help for the learning process.
Library:
The library-module is the editor of the program, which is used to interactively
create or edit one-, two- and three-dimensional structures. This includes the
definition of material data, various load types and boundary conditions.
Examples:
The example-module leads through the process of structural analysis step by
step. The program shows and explains every step of the calculations to the user,
such as numbering of nodes, the set-up of the stiffness matrix and the load vector,
the display of internal forces etc.
Exercises:
With the exercise-module the user interacts directly with the solution procedure.
The user can omit steps already familiar to him and can remain in more detail with
steps, which need more of his attention. As a tutor Tridim provides the student
with comments and explanations.
The analysis of a structure can be performed step by step. At the same time the user
can omit any single step, as well as ask for a fully automatic solution and continue
with the visualization of results. These options qualify ED-Tridim as educational
software as well as an ideal tool for professional analysis.
