| Moldflow Announces the Release of Moldflow Structural Alliance 1.0 |
| |
Moldflow Corporation is pleased to announce the
release of Moldflow Structural Alliance™ 1.0 (MSA™ 1.0), a
revolutionary new product that interfaces to ABAQUS® and ANSYS®
and allows users to greatly increase the quality of material
properties input to structural FEA analyses performed on injection
molded plastic parts. Eliminating certain assumptions about the
plastics material properties should lead directly to more accurate
structural analysis results.
MSA allows users of ABAQUS or
ANSYS to extract critical anisotropic material properties from
Moldflow Plastics Advisers® (MPA®) or Moldflow Plastics Insight®
(MPI®) analyses. Unique to MSA is the ability to map material
properties from MPA or MPI/Fusion analysis results to any 3D
structural mesh model. Ultimately, MSA allows for the use of
different mesh models for injection molding and structural
simulations, without having to worry about the accurate mapping of
analysis results and the predicted plastics material
properties.
MSA allows designers to explore the impact of
the manufacturing process on the structural performance of the
part. By taking into account both the grade-specific material
properties and the process-induced flow characteristics, the
design can be optimized for optimal structural performance. This
is particularly valuable when designing plastic parts using fiber
reinforced materials, and for performance-critical features such
as ribs, bosses, snap fits and natural springs that are commonly
used in injection molded plastic parts.
FREE
TRIAL MSA is available free for a limited time so that
you can learn firsthand the benefits of using MSA in conjunction
with your structural FEA simulations.
MPA or MPI customers
with access to ABAQUS or ANSYS can participate in this free trial,
which runs from February 1, 2007 to March 31, 2007. MSA can be
downloaded from the following website: www.moldflow.com/msa.
AVAILABILITY The
MSA interface currently supports ABAQUS 6.6
(Standard). Support for ANSYS 10.0 is expected to be
available in late February, 2007.
